This is kinda strange. A man in Ohio is being compensated $1500 for a rabid bat bite as per the Ohio law that allows a person hurt by a 'rabid animal' to seek the county's help with medical bills.
Which brings me to my next point. Why wouldn't insurance pay for a rabid bat bite?
Apparently the bitten man received $5,000 in medical bills because of the amount of shots and procedures he had to undergo to minimize the risk of rabies.
Basically, the man lost $3,500 in the ordeal.
So, first, Why won't insurance pay for medical bills incurred by RABID BAT BITE, and, second, if I get randomly assaulted by a rabid vampire bat can I go after the province of Ontario?
Another reason to be for socialized medicine. Some insurance packages wont cover you if you're attacked by a rabid animal...
All my American friends check your policies....
That is fucking stupid. You should not have to have a clause in your insurance policy for every exact case that life can throw at you.
